Import Taxes & Duties
Colette is based in the Netherlands. For orders shipped outside the European Union, local import duties, taxes, or handling fees may apply, depending on the regulations of your country.
Unfortunately, these charges are set by local customs authorities, not by us, and are collected by the courier on their behalf. We don’t have control over when or if these fees are applied, as this can vary based on order value, destination, and current customs procedures.
We completely understand that unexpected fees can be frustrating, and we’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. While these costs are beyond our control, we truly hope you’ll love your new items once they arrive.
United Kingdom
Shipments to the UK may occasionally be subject to import taxes or duties. In practice, this often depends on whether customs select the parcel for inspection. Smaller orders sometimes pass through without additional charges, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If you want to be certain before placing your order, we recommend checking with your local customs authorities for the most accurate information.
USA
As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. government has ended the de minimis exemption. This means that all shipments to the U.S. may now be subject to import duties and handling fees, regardless of order value.
Any charges requested by the courier are import fees imposed by U.S. Customs, not additional shipping costs from us.
